A month ago, Adriana turned Costa Rica, and specifically UPEACE, into her new home. Three years ago, she began her relationship with the university as a Visiting Professor. Today she is a Resident Professor and the new Coordinator of the International Peace Studies Program (IPS).

In the story of Professor Amr Abdalla, UPEACE seems to be a very meaningful chapter. His bond with the university comes from long ago; he understands and knows it as very few do. He has experienced diverse historical moments of the institution and has seen it from varied perspectives. Maybe that is why he so fiercely believes it to be such a unique place. “There is no place in the world like UPEACE,” says Amr.

A diverse body of students from different backgrounds, countries and realities, are eager to learn about a complex and above all, very specific subject.

Born in the southernmost country in the Americas, Maria Celina was raised with an understanding of the world beyond the borders of her country. The stories her immigrant grandparents told her about their lives and their struggles before arriving in Argentina, aroused her curiosity to learn about other cultures from an early age.
